The Last Blockbuster (Bend) - Feel like you're walking into the past with the last remaining Blockbuster in the nation! There's even a Netflix documentary about it, I'm not kidding. Grab some merch, look at the super cool costume signed by Russel Crowe himself, and get yourself a real Blockbuster Membership card!
High Desert Museum (30min South of Bend) - A Smithsonian Partner, this museum is a must see if you have the time. Make sure to set aside 2-4hrs to see it all, and don't miss one of the live shows if there happen to be any that day!
Lava Butte Interpretive Site (30min South of Bend) - Literally across the highway from the High Desert Museum is a gigantic cinder cone with an active firewatch tower on top of it. Tons of parking available. Either hike up to the top of the cone or hitch a ride on one of the buses that depart every half hour. The views from the top are some of the best in the area. Check the Forest Service website for up to date info.
Old Mill District (Bend) - The logging operation that put Bend on the map is now home to dozens of shops and restaurants along the Deschutes River. Make sure to check out the Old Mill itself, which is now home to an REI.
Downtown Bend (Bend) - Whether you're in the mood to eat, drink, or shop, enjoy the experience while walking along the Deschutes River downtown. Embrace your inner Gorpcore influencer by checking out the Patagonia, Birkenstock, and Fjällräven stores.
Downtown Sisters (Sisters) - A quaint, Western-themed town with many craft and artisan shops, and plenty of great bites and drinks nearby. Make sure to grab a coffee at the iconic Sisters Coffee Company log cabin before heading out on the town.
